Chow Mein

Ingredients:
-2 packages of noodles
-2 cups shredded cabbage
-3 stalks celery, sliced diagonally
-1 onion, diced
-3 cloves garlic minced
-2 teaspoons freshly granted ginger
-1/4 teaspoon white pepper
-1/4 cup soy sauce
-1 tablespoon brown sugar
-2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions:
1. In a small bowl, add the soy sauce, the garlic, the brown sugar, the ginger, and the white pepper. Mix and set aside.
2. In a large pot with boiling water, add the noodles. When ready drain well.
3. Heat up the oil in a large pan at a medium heat. Add the onions and the celery until tender. Add cabbage and cook for 2 more minutes.
4. Add the noddles and the mixture you did earlier. Mix well for another 2 minutes.

Guacamole


Ingredients:
-Avocados
-Tomatoes
-Onions
-Coriander
-JalapeƱos (opt.)
-Salt

Steps:
1. Chop the tomatoes, the onions, the coriander, and the jalapeƱos.
2. Peel the avocados. Then, in a bowl mashed them.
3. Add the vegetables.
4. Add salt if needed it and mix well.

Watery Soup


Ingredients:
-A bag of noddles
-6 tomatoes
-1/4 of an onion
-1 clove of garlic
-Cooking oil
-Water
- Salt

Steps:
1. In a medium pot, boil the tomatoes until they get soft.
2. When the tomatoes are ready, put them in the blender with the piece of onion and the garlic, and grind.
3. In another pot, heat up some oil and fry the noodle until they get a golden color.
4. Add the liquid to the noodle. Add salt and more water if need it, if not cover and let it boil at a medium heat.

White Rice with Vegetables


Ingredients:
-Cup of rice
-2 cups of water or more
-Vegetables
-Clove of garlic
-Piece of onion
-Cooking oil
-Salt

Steps:
1. Heat up some oil in a medium pan. And wash the rice.
2. Add the rice to the pan and brown it.
3. Using the blender grind the garlic and the piece of onion with one cup of water.
4. Add the garlic and onion to the rice and salt. Also, add the vegetables and the other cup of water. Cover and leave it at a medium heat until all the water is consumed.
5. After all the water is consumed, add more water if need it, if not turn off the heat.

Breaded Shrimps


Ingredients:
-Shrimps
-Flour
-Eggs(depend on how many shrimps you want to make)
-Bread Crumbs
-Cooking Oil
-Salt

Steps:
1. Peel the shrimps, just leave the tail. If you like you can take out the black veins.
2. In a bowl whisk the eggs. In another bowl pour some flour with salt. Also, add some bread crumbs in another bowl.
3. Heat up the cooking oil.
4. When the oil is ready, grab a shrimp and pass it through the flour, then through the egg, and finally through the bread crumbs.
5. Fry them for about 3 or 4 minutes, until they get a golden color.

Mangoneadas


Ingredients:
- Mangos
-Water
-Sugar
-Chamoy
-Lemon
-Salt

Materials:
-Small plastic cups
-Popsicle sticks
-Blender
-Spoon

Procedure:
1. Peel and cut the mangos. It doesn't matter the size you cut them.
2. Place the pieces of mango on the blender, add a small amount of water and grind.
3. Add it to a pitcher and add more water, but not too much, it has to stay thick. Also, add sugar to your taste and stir.
4. Add the liquid and place a popsicle stick to each cup.
5. Refrigerate until it's frozen.
6. When it's frozen, take out the popsicle. In the cup, add salt, lemon, and chamoy. Put the posicle back to the cup.

Creme Caramel



Ingredients:
-5 eggs
-1 can of condense milk
-1 can of evaporated milk
-1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
-1 cup of sugar
-Water

Materials:
-Whisker or blender
-Strainer
-A bowl (only if using whisker)
-Mold (any shape)
-Flat mold
-Wooded spoon

Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
2. Heat up a pan at medium heat.
3. When pan is heated, add the cup of sugar, mix and mix with the wooded spoon, until is melted, make sure it doesn't burn.
4. Pour the caramel into the mold you will use, spread the caramel carefully covering the mold's walls. Let it cool.
5. In the bowl or the blender, add the can of condense milk, the can of evaporated milk,  the five eggs, and the vanilla extract, mix well.
6. Strain the mixture into the previous caramel mold.
7. In the flat mold, add water not too full and place the mold with the mixture. Bake for about 45 minutes.
8. After the 45 minutes, check if its ready using a toothpick.
9. When its ready, take it out and let it cool.
10. Unmold and refrigerate until time to serve it.

Homemade Pancakes


The following ingredients will make about 4 pancakes (more or fewer depending on the size). You may change the amounts of ingredients according to the number you wish to serve. If you want to make the double of pancakes just double the amount of each ingredient. 


Ingredients:
-1 cup of all purpose flour
-3/4 of regular milk
-3 tablespoons of regular sugar
-1 egg
-3 tablespoons of melted butter
-1 butter stick
-1 teaspoon of baking power
-1 teaspoon of baking soda
-1 teaspoon of vanilla extract(opt.)
-Syrup

Utensils:
-Bowl
-Small Pan
-Egg Whisker
-Spatula

Procedure:
1. In a medium bowl, add flour, melted butter, egg, sugar, baking power, baking soda and vanilla extract or the flavored you want. Mix all ingredients with the whisker and add small amounts of milk little by little, until there's no more lumps.
2. At medium temperature, heat up a small pan, with a really small amount of butter.
3. When the butter is melted, add some mixture, until the pan is covered. 
4. You are only going to flip once, when you see bubbles.
5. When the second side is brown you'll know the pancake is ready.
6. Repeat steps 3-5 for the rest of the mixture. 
7. Finally, add syrup to your pancakes.

Chinese Fried Rice

Today's recipe is Chinese fried rice. For this recipe you can add or remove ingredients, it depends on you.Today I just made 2 cups of rice, but you can do more. For every cup of rice its 2 cups of water. This were the ingredients I used. Some people add chicken or shrimps.

Ingredients:
2 cups of uncooked, long grain rice
4 cups of water
1 carrot chopped in little cubes
1/2 cup of peas
2 eggs
2 tablespoons of soy sauce
Cooking oil
Salt

Procedure:
  1. In a medium pot, boil 4 cups of  water.
  2. When water is boiling, add 2 cups of rice. Stir and cover.
  3. When rice is soft and all the water is absorbed, put it on a bowl to cool.
  4. In a good size pan, heat up some oil and cook the carrots and peas. Reserve them.
  5. Whisk 2 eggs.
  6. Repeat step 4, but instead of adding the vegetables add the rice. Fry it for a while.
  7. Add the eggs and mix.
  8. Now add the fried vegetables and the 2 tablespoons of soy sauce and mix. Add salt if needed.
                                                    And this is how it will look.

Agua de Horchata

Agua de horchata is a very common drink in much of Latin America. It can be for any type of occasion, and for any season.

Note: Beore adding sugar, taste to adjust to your personal taste. Maybe you would like more or less sugar. If you feel the consistency of the drink is too thick or dense for your palate, just add more water. Also, if you don't like milk don't add the milk cans. 


Ingredients:
  1. 1 cup white rice
  2. 1 can evaporated milk(opt.)
  3. 1 can condensed milk(opt.)
  4. 1 cinnamon stick
  5. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  6. 4 tablespoons of sugar
  7. Ice cubes(opt.)

Utensils:
  • A pitcher
  • A blender
  • A strainer
  • A bowl

Directions:
  1. Rinse 1 cup of white rise in a strainer.
  2. Transfer the white rise you rinsed to the bowl and add a stick of cinnamon.
  3. Cover the bowl with water for about 2 hours or more, until tender.
  4. When the rice and the cinnamon stick are tender, put it in the blender.
  5. Blend the ingredients well .
  6. Strain the mixture you blended over a pitcher.
  7. Add the evaporated, and condensed milk, and one teaspoon of vanilla extract and stir.
  8. Add 2 liters of water.
  9. Add sugar.

Broken Glass Jello

Today's recipe is a broken glass jello, it require more time and patience to be elaborated, but its worth because its really tasty. Its a good option for parties.

Ingredients:
  • 4 gelatin bags, different flavors/colors
  • 1 tablespoon of unflavored gelatin
  • 1 can of condense milk
  • 1 can of evaporated milk
  • A gelatin mold
  • 4 flat containers
Steps:


















  1. Prepare all the color gelatin one by one according to package directions.
  2. Pour the liquids in flat molds and refrigerate until they curdle, no less than 4 hours.
  3. When they are curdle, unmold the gelatin and cut them into medium cubes. 
  4. Arrange the cubes in the gelatin mold, and refrigerate while you prepare the rest of the gelatin.
  5. Hydrate the unflavored gelatin in 1/2 cup of warm water.
  6. In a bowl pour the evaporated and condensed milk. 
  7. Add the hydrated gelatin and stir until it's well dissolved.
  8. Pour the mixture to the gelatin mold with the color cubes, cover and refrigerate until it is completely curdled, for about 4 hours more.

                                                            This will be your final result.

Shrimp Cocktail

Today I will show how I make a simple and easy shrimp cocktail. It doesn't require to much ingredients or time.

Ingredients:
  • Shrimps
  • Tomatoes
  • Onions
  • Coriander
  • Jalapeno(opt.)
  • Avocados(opt.)
  • Ketchup
  • Salt
  • Garlic
Steps:
  • In a medium pot, boil water with  two cloves of garlic, and  half an onion.
  • Add the shrimps. Leave them there for about 5 minutes or more. You will know if they ready when they change color.
  • Let them cool down, but don't throw the water you cooked the shrimps.
  • While the shrimps are cooling down, chop the tomatoes, the onions, and the coriander.
 
                                                      
  • In a bowl add all the ingredients you chopped and the shrimps.
  • Add the water you saved, ketchup and salt to the bowl and mix them.
                       
  • Finally, serve it!
